CEUs

Cy-Hope Counseling is proud to be able to provide community  training, networking, and consultation for mental health providers, licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed marriage and family therapists. We hope to connect mental health practitioners and advocates in the Greater Houston area together to network, learn from one another, and to help bring education, services, and therapy to the Greater Houston Area. During our events, CEUs will be provided for LPCs, LMFTs, and LCSWs.

2/24/18- 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Crisis Assessment & Interventions

Topic: This presentation will provide education on the interpersonal psychological theory of suicide and how to use this theory to aid in a clinician’s understanding of acute suicidal risk, appropriate risk measures, and simple interventions that can be implemented.

3/23- 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Human Trauma: Instinct or Reason

Topic: how our trauma is an instinctual process that comes from our more natural side of ourselves, and how we can use our instincts as a guideline for coping mechanisms for those who struggle with trauma. 

Presenter: Yarely holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her training includes play therapy, family counseling, and individual counseling, and enjoys working with a wide range of ages including children, adolescents, and older adults.

Topic: Treating Clients with Autism: The Stresses, Interventions, Solutions, and Ways to Help

Event Cost: $20

 

Jasper Gates, a therapist also diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, will provide attendees with information from both his own personal and professional perspective on the ASD diagnosis, how to help clients diagnosed with ASD learn how to cope in the counseling room, and interventions to enhance the therapeutic relationship between clients with ASD and the therapist.

Jasper is a licensed professional counselor intern who provides mental health counseling for teens, kids, and adults with a wide range of mental illnesses such as depression, bipolar, autism, video game addiction, anxiety, LBGTQ+ issues, OCD, and social communication disorder. His heart and his expertise are in video game addiction and autism spectrum disorders.
